We had an exciting morning at Jenney Pond, Plymouth, Massachusetts. There were 3 species of large wading birds: 3 great egrets, one great blue heron, and multiple black-crowned night Herons. In this image, if you look closely, there are 3 black-crowned night herons around the great blue heron. I was able to obtain different photos of the activities of these birds.
A red-tailed hawk bombed the great egret twice. I observed the action but did capture the flight of the hawk.
A Cooper’s Hawk came down and sat on one of the old branches stuck in the water and watched the activity.
Also, wood ducks swim in front of the birds on the shore.
This is the most-quantity of large waiting birds that I have seen at the pond.
As a side note; At Manomet Point, we located a 1st. year Yellow-crowned Night Heron
